When Charleston, South Carolina recruit Michael Preddy first visited Georgia Tech he made them his leader. Following visits to other schools, his favorites list changed. Preddy made a return visit to Tech Friday and the visit convinced him that Georgia Tech was where he needed to be.

Preddy made the trip to Atlanta with his mom. "I got to see everything I didn't get to see on the first trip." Michael and his mom got to see the academic side of things, the dorms, the classes, and the CRC. "I loved it."

Michael's mom was also impressed with what she saw. "She loved how much detail Georgia Tech gives towards academics and how much the business world thinks of a degree from there."

The second visit to Tech reinforced how Preddy felt after his first visit. "I felt like Georgia Tech had everything I wanted. It is close to home, has world class academics, and getting an internship in Atlanta will be easy." Tech having one of the best business schools also was a plus for Preddy.

On the first trip to Tech, Preddy didn't get to see everything like he did on other school visits. "I wanted to get back to Georgia Tech and give them a fair shot and give me a chance to see everything Georgia Tech had to offer."

One of the highlights of the trip was a power point presentation given by Coach Lamar Owens. Following the presentation and a tour of the school, as Preddy and Coach Owens were walking to the entrance of the stadium, Preddy let Coach Owens know that he wanted to commit. "He was very happy and glad to have me on board."

Preddy plays on both sides of the school for his high school team. A decision on where he'll play at Tech has not been decided. "He told me they would talk about where I would play but it seems like I will start out on the offensive line. I could possibly move to defense if it would be best for the team. I really don't care as long I'm helping the team to win."

Now that he has committed to Tech, Michael is looking forward to helping recruit other players to Tech. "I will be contacting Nolan Kelleher. He is from the area close to me and I will jump on it and try to get him to come in with me."

Michael also let coach Owens know he is done with his recruitment. Committing to Georgia Tech was like a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders. I am happy and set to be a Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket."

Asked if they were heading back to Charleston, Michael replied, "My mom and I will stay over and maybe catch a movie, we really like it here in Atlanta."
