Bradenton, Florida offensive lineman Jake Stickler has had a busy summer attenting camps and getting his name on the map. One of those trips stood out to Stickler and today he gave his verbal to that school.
Stickler started the summer tour of schools at Georgia Tech followed by visits to schools like Florida State, LSU and Missouri. "The visit to Georgia Tech was the best one for me." Even though he had thoughts of committing to Tech on the visit, Jake felt that he need to finish the visits he had planned.
"I really felt at home and relaxed at Georgia Tech; way more than I did at the other camps and visits." Jake knew after taking all his visits that Tech was the place for him.
Friday afternoon, Jake called Georgia Tech Coach Paul Johnson to let him know that he was committing. "He was very happy to hear I was committing to Georgia Tech and said it was great that I was on board." Jake has plans to call Coach Sewak on Saturday to talk to him too about his commitment.
With the exception of game day visits and his official visit, Jake is finished with his visits. "I am 100% sure of my commitment to Georgia Tech."
Jake wasn't the only one that was excited about making his commitment to Tech. His parents are excited and happy for him. "They know I will be getting a great education and they will be able to see me play."
Speaking of education, Stickler plans to look at either business or pre-med as his major when he arrives at Georgia Tech. "Coach (Mike) Sewak was telling me how well Georgia Tech prepares students for medical school and how well respected Georgia Tech's business school is in the business world." Jake knows he can't go wrong with either major.
