Goose Creek, South Carolina running back Caleb Kinlaw had four schools that he had planned to visit when official visits begin. That changed Friday when Kinlaw gave his verbal commit to one of those schools.
Georgia Tech received their second commit of the day when Caleb Kinlaw called Coach Paul Johnson and Coach Lamar Owens to give them his verbal commit. "Georgia Tech has been real dedicated in my recruitment. They have been recruiting me the hardest and they have been the most consistent."
After looking at everything Tech had to offer, Caleb felt that they were the school for him. "I want to major in engineering and they have one of the top engineering schools in the country." Caleb also felt that Tech's offense was a perfect fit for him.
Both coaches were excited when they got the news from Kinlaw. Coach Johnson let Kinlaw know that since he gave him his commitment that he would be loyal to Kinlaw and wants Caleb to be loyal to him. "I have a lot of faith in the coaching staff at Georgia Tech and I get the same feeling that they have a lot of faith in me as player and a student."
Kinlaw is happy that he is done with his recruitment. I am firm in my commitment to Georgia Tech but I am open to maybe taking a visit if things change, you never put your eggs in one basket. Other schools are still recruiting me. I'll talk to the Georgia Tech coaches about that. Some of the other schools that are recruiting me pretty hard are Tennessee, Arizona, North Carolina, Marshall, and Kansas State."
Both of Caleb's parents love his choice of schools. "They both love it. My mom really values an education and she knows I will get a good one at Georgia Tech." Caleb's dad is a football man and he also knows that Georgia Tech has a good tradition and plays great football.
"I am very excited and happy with this and look forward to getting to Georgia Tech."
