Colquitt County defensive lineman Jamiyus Pittman has started his senior season registering 16 tackles and 2 1/2 sacks. Pittman is committed to Ole Miss but is also looking at other schools.
Pittman committed to Ole Miss in late May but has recently begun talking to other schools. "Right now I am looking at Georgia Tech, Michigan State, Miami, North Carolina State, and Mississippi State." While he is looking at other schools, Jamiyus is not ready to de-commit just yet.
Jamiyus has been keeping in touch with Georgia Tech Coach Andy McCollum. Coach McCollum and Pittman have built a good relationship and he likes what Coach McCollum has to say. "Coach tells me I am the perfect fit for their defense and I could definitely come in and make an immediate impact on defense."
Pittman has also kept in touch with and has become friends with several of the Tech commits. "Tre Jackson and I are close and we talk a lot." Jamiyus has also gotten to know Lamar County athletes Lamar Austin and Lawrence Austin. "I talked to them at a Tech camp this summer and we have really hit it off."
The relationships with the Tech coaches and the recruits have put them in a good position with Jamiyus. "I am very interested in Georgia Tech. I can really see myself playing there."
Jamiyus has visited Georgia Tech in the past and will be making additional visits in the future. "I'd like to get up there for a game or two." Jamiyus also wants to visit some of the other schools he is considering. He has yet to make a decision on which of those schools he'll visit.
A date has not been set on when Pittman will have everything settled in his recruitment. "I really don't want to put any time constraints on what I want to happen or anything like that. I just have to do what I feel is best for me."
