"We had a great time." Freddie and his parents arrived late but both enjoyed what they were able to experience. "I got a chance to meet the coaches and some of the players."

Phillips also had a chance to see some of the facilities. "The weight room really impressed me." Freddie also took the time to meet with the academic people in the engineering department. "I want to major in Civil Engineering. "We as a family were very impressed with the prestigious reputation of the Tech engineering department."

A return trip to Tech is a possibility for Phillips. "I'd like to come back for a game but if I don't I know I will be making a return trip in the spring." If possible, Freddie would like to do both.

Phillips didn't receive an offer on the visit but one could be coming. "I can tell you I have a good feeling; a good vibe about getting one from them." The Tech coaches like Phillips' size and his blocking. Pelion runs an offense that requires the receivers to block. "Coach (Buzz)Preston talked to me and said he would be coming to see me play along with Coach (Mike) Sewak."

There isn't one school that Freddie feels is recruiting him harder than the others. "Schools like Georgia Tech, Florida, Florida State, North Carolina, and North Carolina State are all recruiting me."

When it comes time to make his college choice, Phillips will be enlisting the help of his parents. "I value their input and opinion and I want to have someone with my best interests in mind helping me with this important decision." Top Stories
