Lammers enjoys Georgia Tech

Center Ben Lammers is one of the top targets at the position for Brian Gregory and the Yellow Jackets. The San Antonio native enjoyed his visit to Georgia Tech.

San Antonio (TX) Alamo Heights center Ben Lammers took a visit to Georgia Tech this past weekend. Already holding an offer from the Yellow Jackets, it was an opportunity for him to become more acquainted with the school and he liked what he saw.

"They really have great facilities for just about every sport which was cool to find out," said Lammers. "They have a lot of good guys around the program. The coaches are cool and very knowledgeable about the game. It was a great campus and I really enjoyed myself."

Georgia Tech is recruiting Lammers to play one of their post positions. With that being his future, the Yellow Jackets are selling the immediate playing time pitch to the 6-foot-9 San Antonio prospect.

"They are losing post guys again after this year so I'll have a great opportunity at playing time if I choose to go to Georgia Tech," explained Lammers. "That is something I'm really considering because that is one of the factors on the top of my list. I want to be on the court early on. They really think I'm a great fit for their program and I appreciate that."

The academics at Georgia Tech is the primary draw for Lammers.

"I'm interested in being an engineering major so Georgia Tech is a big attraction for me," he admitted. "They're one of the top engineering schools in the nation so that is a huge plus for them and it's what I like about them the most."

Lammers visited Marquette the week prior to his trip to see Georgia Tech and will be visiting Miami next weekend. He will be releasing a list of his top schools once that trip is complete.

He hopes to have his college decision made in November. Top Stories
