2015 Buford (GA) offensive lineman Nick Polino recently picked up his first scholarship offer. Georgia Tech assistant Ted Roof was at Buford High School and took notice of the junior lineman.
"Coach Roof was at practice and he liked what he saw," Polino said. "He let my coaches know at the practice last week that they were going to offer."
The first offer is always special and that was no different with Polino.
"It was a huge honor," he stated. "It has been what I have been working for and what I wanted to get."
"It definitely helps Georgia Tech," he added. "They are the first school that made the step so it will always be special. It was real cool of them and I'll always consider them."
Polino has not gotten to talk to the coaches since he was informed of the offer but he has talked to someone associated with the Yellow Jackets.
"One of my cousins is interning at Georgia Tech in the athletics department," he noted. "He is in the strength and conditioning department. He constantly says good things about the school."
The talented offensive lineman is hopeful that he will be able to fit in a visit to Georgia Tech.
"Anytime I can get to Georgia Tech for a game I'd love to," he told Scout. "I haven't been able to contact the coaches since last week so we haven't been able to work on anything like that. I know it is a school I want to see, though."
