Williams Ready for Recruiting to End

ELCA, Georgia defensive end Andrew Williams had plans, at one time, to pare his long list of offers. That task has taken longer than expected. Williams is now turning his attention to which five schools will get official visits.

The start of the season for ELCA has been great. They are off to a 3-0 start. "We still have the goal of winning state and it would be great to go out as state champions."

When we last talked to Andrew, he wanted to trim his list of offers to 7-10 schools. Doing that has not been easy for Andrew. "Right now my family and I are looking at all the schools recruiting me and we want to decide on which schools get my five official visits."

Georgia Tech and Georgia may not be two of the schools getting official visits. "I have been to both schools so many times that I know them inside and out. They may or may not get the official visits but that doesn't rule them out."

Andrew has already attended games at both of those schools this season. "I have been to the Georgia Tech opener and I was at Georgia's game with South Carolina." Andrew hasn't planned any other visits. "I am in the mode of getting done with my recruitment."

The new Georgia Tech defense under Coach Ted Roof has gotten Andrew's attention. "I really think he has done a great job. He has gotten them going in the right direction." Andrew has also noticed than when his brother Anthony gets in the game, he makes plays. "Its a much better fit for him. You can tell that the players have really responded to Coach Roof. I like that."

We should know soon which schools will get official visits from Andrew. "I hope to know real soon, not more than two weeks, maybe sooner. To be honest I am ready for my recruitment to be over." Andrew looks to make his decision before his season is over.
