2015 Buford (GA) offensive lineman Nick Polino made it to Atlanta on Saturday to get his first taste of Georgia Tech football.
The Yellow Jackets were Polino's first offer and are currently the only one he holds. I would not expect that to last much longer, however.
Polino had a blast on his first visit.
"It was really fun," he said. " I talked to Coach (Paul) Johnson and Coach (Ted) Roof. It was the first time I have been able to meet Coach Johnson and he was a fantastic guy. I really enjoyed his company."
"I was taken on a tour of their campus," Polino added. "The facilities were so nice and I was impressed with everything that I saw. It was everything I imagined it being and more. I had a really good time."
The best part of Polino's trip was his interaction with the staff.
"The Georgia Tech coaches said they like my film," he mentioned. "They were explaining to me how much of an education really matters and that Georgia Tech has some of the best programs in the country when it comes to their engineering and business schools. They are quality guys and it was great to be able to listen to everything they had to say."
"Hearing about the academics was important to me," he continued. "I was telling my dad today that business is something I'm definitely very interested in. Georgia Tech can offer me a lot if I choose to go in that direction."
Polino has no timetable to make a college decision but intends on taking his time. He wants to visit other places and wait things out to see what other opportunities may come his way.
He plans on visiting Tennessee in October as they host South Carolina.
"They've showed me quite a bit of interest lately," Polino said of Tennessee. "They have just mainly trying to get me on campus for a visit to see a game. I want to take them up on that invitation."
