Jalen didn't let the rain put a damper on the Tech win. "When your team wins, you don't notice the rain. We enjoyed it." Johnson was impressed with how the Jackets shut down Carolina after the first quarter. "You could tell the coaches not only made in game but half time adjustments that really worked."
The atmosphere at the game stood out to Jalen. "The fans never sat down. They had their team's back even when Tech got behind 20-7." Jalen knew the fans weren't going to let the team down. "The noise was off the charts."
Johnson had a chance to talk to Tech defensive coordinator Ted Roof on his visit. "He told me I was good with them and that they were 100% behind me." Coach Roof also told Jalen to concentrate on his rehab and school work and be ready to come to Tech to be Jacket next year. "Most of all, he told me not to get down, to keep my head up, and everything will be fine."
A 100% recovery is in the works for Johnson. "My therapist says I am way ahead of schedule and coming along great." The hardest part for Jalen, right now, is watching his team play from the sideline. "I am getting ready to play for Georgia Tech now while supporting my high school teammates."
Look for Jalen to be back on campus during the season. "I will be back for either the Pittsburgh or Syracuse game and definitely the Georgia game. We are going to beat them this year!"
