well was Dawan Landry. The left handed freshmen had some nice throws deep over the middle a few times, while also showing some quicks with his feet ala Michael Vick. James Butler the new freshmen Free Safety from Bainbridge Georgia ran with the second team defense and looked very smooth.
In pass skelly Wide Receiver Kelly Campbell seemed to already be in midseason form has he hauled in a pass from Andy Hall for a touchdown against Cornerback Albert Poree. Reuben Houston seems to be making the adjustment from Safety to Cornerback has he had two nice breakups of Damarius Bilbo passes. Kelly Rhino had a great diving interception over his left shoulder of a Mark Logan pass.
The goalline scrimmage was very spirited, with the defense really really motivated. You can see the leadership of all the returning starters by the way they took pride in stopping the offense time and time again. But the offense had it's moments too as Sidney Ford continued to impress with a nice run around the left side for a 7 yard touchdown. Jonathan Smith made a nice grab in the back of the endzone on a pass from Andy Hall under pressure.
Will Glover may have had the play of the day when he made a nice leaping catch in the corner of the endzone over Rhino on a fade route that was placed perfectly by Bilbo. The goalline scrimmage ended with Joe Burns running off tackle for a touchdown. BIG BEE gave a few comments after practice on how he felt things went.
Question: You really gave Bilbo and Andy alot of reps today.
BIG BEE: Yes, I really wanted to see alot of them in action. When you run alot of team blitzs you get a chance to find out who really knows what their doing.
Question: So how do you feel they did today?
BIG BEE: I wasn't happy with either one of them. I felt they made way to many mental mistakes.
Question: Are you looking at them has your number two and three Quarterbacks?
BIG BEE: I don't know that until I start looking at the tape, but obviously we're looking at them for a reason.
