Bell Impressed by GT Visit

William Amos Hough High School (NC) junior defensive back Corey Bell has three offers from in-state schools. Bell ventured outside the state this weekend to make a trip to Atlanta to watch Georgia Tech play Georgia.

"This visit changed my outlook and perception of Georgia Tech." Bell was told that Georgia Tech doesn't embrace their football. " I could really see that they take it seriously. The atmosphere was great at the game and I love the fact that they came out took it to Georgia." Bell had to leave in the 3rd quarter to head back home. He described the trip as great and enjoyed his time in Atlanta.

Bell didn't have a chance to talk to the coaches before the game but he did get to meet someone that really caught him off guard. "I saw this really tall, built person and thought he was a basketball player, but it was Calvin Johnson. He was great to talk with and had great things to say about Tech."

Duke, North Carolina, and North Carolina State have offered Bell and he feels that an offer from Tech would put them in that group. "I really loved Atlanta and the Tech campus."

Georgia Tech Coach Bryan Cook recently visited Bell. "When Coach Cook was here, he had me fill out paper work and told me that the defensive back coaches would be coming to see me in early December. If I get that offer from Tech, boy will that change my recruitment."

The next visit for Bell will be to watch Duke practice for the ACC championship game. "I'll go to the practices but I'm not really wanting to go to the game though."

Bell hopes to get back to Tech to see all the facilities and to tour the campus. "The facilities I saw were great and I understand they have some that are even more impressive than what I saw. It is safe to say that Tech is a school I am interested in very much." Top Stories
