Jackson, Alabama quarterback Mathew Jordan and his parents traveled to Atlanta this past weekend for Matthew's official visit at Georgia Tech. On the visit, Jordan got to spend time with a few of his future teammates and one that he hopes that will be a teammate.
"My parents loved the trip and we loved everything from the banquet on Friday to all the activities they had planned for us on Saturday." Matthew described the visit as everything he expected and more. "They treated us well and showed us a great time."
Jordan was hosted on the visit by current players Zach Laskey and Tim Byerly. "I learned a lot from them about being a student-athlete." Matthew is looking forward to becoming that student-athlete in three weeks when he enrolls early at Tech.
Tech commits KeShun Freeman, Tre Jackson, and Tyler Merriweather along with running back recruit Shai McKenzie were also on their official visits. "We all hung out together with our hosts and had a good time."
Matthew and his fellow commits talked to McKenzie about coming in with them. "He had a great time and was amazed with what Georgia Tech had to offer." Jordan feels having Shai's mom and sister living in Atlanta is an advantage for Tech. "I know I will be calling him on the 18th or 19th to get a feel for what he will do. I want to give him some time but I also want him to know we want him as part of the Tech family."
The Tech coaches met with Matthew, before he left, and told him to come in and compete hard during spring practice and the rest will take care of itself. "I know I will be giving it my all and if I have to redshirt then that is what I will do."
