North Gwinnett HS (GA) running back C.J Leggett ended his recruitment today by giving his verbal commit to Georgia Tech. Leggett's strong performance in the state championships gained him interest from new schools but C.J. decided to end his recruitment.
Leggett recently received a visit at practice from Georgia Tech Coach Paul Johnson and Coach Ted Roof. C.J. received an offer from Tech on that visit. "They said I would be the type of running back that could be at B-back and then the next play, become an A-back." Leggett's running style and the fact that he was healthy again led to the offer.
"I decided that Georgia Tech was the place I want and need to be for college. I love the way the coaches at Tech have plans to use me." Leggett likes to run between the tackles but his quickness can also get him into open space. "I am very happy with my decision and to be honest I am glad my recruitment is done. I am going to be a Yellow Jacket and my recruitment is done."
Since Leggett made his decision to attend Tech, schools like Missouri and Illinois started recruiting him. "They had some running backs that they were recruiting that didn't make their grades and they want me to be a part of their team." Leggett let them know that he was done with his recruitment.
Georgia Tech's prestigious academic programs as well as this year's recruiting class were two of the reasons why C.J made his decision to attend Tech. "I just felt Georgia Tech was the best for me when I compared all the schools" Georgia Tech was the one school that was recruiting Leggett the hardest. Leggett also likes that his family can see him at every home game.
Leggett will be joining one of his friends who is currently playing for Tech. "Michael Summers is very good friend of mine and I think he will be my player host when I make my official visit on January 17th."
