Following a visit to Gilman, Georgia Tech Coach Joe Speed talked to Branch's coach and extended the offer. Coach Speed let Branch's coach know that Tech likes him at both safety and receiver but they would probably play him at safety. "I felt real good about getting that offer from him. A bunch of schools have been saying they are close to offering but it was good to know Tech did."

The offer from Tech brought Robert's offer total to three. "I now have offers from Boston College, Rutgers, and Georgia Tech. Branch is also hearing from schools like Maryland and West Virginia. "I feel my recruitment is beginning to pick up."

Branch plans to visit Tech this summer. "I can come down and spend some time to get to see the school and not just have it be a quick visit." Robert wants to see as much of the school and learn as much about the school as he can.

When it comes time to make a decision, academics will be a factor for Robert. Robert is looking at engineering for a possible major. "A good relationship with the coaches would be a plus." Distance from home will also play a small role in Robert's decision. The southeast, mid-atlantic region, and the northeast are the areas Robert is primarily looking at in selecting a school.

Branch is a student of the game and is known as a leader on the field. " I can get our defense in the right positions based on what the offense is throwing at us. l feel like my football I.Q. is my best trait." Top Stories
