Winton Woods High School (OH) 2015 running back Marcus Davis is coming off a strong junior season. Marcus and two of his teammates made a recent visit to Atlanta to visit Georgia Tech. Davis was impressed by the visit.
Davis described the visit as amazing. "I loved every minute I have spent down here." Davis spent time with some of the Georgia Tech players and coaches and got to meet some other recruits that were visiting. "I know this trip was a solid 9 for me."
The thing that impressed Davis the most was how comfortable he felt. "The staff was great, they made me feel welcome and at home. The players we talked to made us feel like we already a part of the team." Davis felt that these were the type of people he wants to surround himself with in college.
The visit also included a tour of the facilities as well as taking a look at the academic side of things. "We were then told about the college and how prestigious the engineering and business degrees are at Georgia Tech. They take pride in their academic standing."
Marcus hopes to spend some additional time at Tech and is planning a return visit. " I hope to come down with my teammates again to see everything learn even more about the city, school, and program at Georgia Tech." Davis and his teammates David Long and George Brown have talked about playing at the same school.
Tech is recruiting Davis as a B Back in their spread option offense. "I'm 5' 10"-220 and with my speed, I was told I would be what they want at that position." Davis likes that idea as he plays that position for Winton Woods. He feels the transition would be something he could handle with ease.
Davis plans to wait until after his senior season to make his decision. He will be looking for a school where he feels at home. Distance will not be a factor in his decision. "If a school like Georgia Tech is a place I like, distance will not be a factor to keep me from committing, especially since I have family down there."
