One of Howell's traits, that are attracting interest, is his ability to catch the ball with his hands. "I am very aggressive. I like punishing the defensive back. I am a devastating blocker."
In addition to his six offers, Howell is starting to receive interest from other schools. "To tell you the truth my recruitment was starting out a little slow but it is picking up now."
Howell has offers from Georgia Tech, Arkansas State, Boston College, Charlotte, Marshall, and Middle Tennessee State. "Schools like Louisville, South Carolina, Georgia, Ohio State, LSU, Florida, and Alabama are also recruiting me." Harland has also been invited by Ole Miss to visit their campus.
Georgia Tech will be one of the schools to receive a visit from Harland. "I know I am going to a practice at Georgia Tech and I'll attend their spring game on the 18th of April. Harland also plans to visit Louisville the 5th of April for a Junior Day and he hopes to visit South Carolina and Georgia."
Georgia is the one school that Howell feels is showing him the most interest. Georgia Tech is another school showing interest in Howell. "I like them a lot. They have great educational opportunities." Howell keeps in touch with Coach Andy McCollum, his recruiting coach.
Harland doesn't have any favorites at this time but he does have four conferences that he prefers. The ACC, SEC, BIG12, and PAC12 are the four. "I don't see myself playing in any other conference at this time."
A school with a good management program will be one of the factors in Harland's choice of schools. Howell will also be looking for a school that helps him on and off the field. "A good coaching staff is also important."
Don't look for a decision from Howell until after his senior season.
