Profile - TaQuon Marshall
Harris County High School (GA) athlete TaQuon Marshall and his parents visited Georgia Tech this past weekend. They left the visit with a good feeling about Tech.
Marshall and his parents made the visit to ask questions that they had and to get a better feel of how Tech is recruiting TaQuon.
They first met with receivers Coach Buzz Preston and then they met with Coach Paul Johnson. "They were honest and up front with me and my parents and that was a very important." Marshall felt that they found out what they wanted to know and not just what the coaches thought he and his parents wanted to hear.
The main questions asked of the coaches were what position would TaQuon play, could he get early playing time, and did the coaches want him to make a decision before a certain date.
The coaches are initially looking at TaQuon as a quarterback. They also let him know that they are looking at another quarterback. If the other quarterback were to commit before Marshall, Tech would look for him to play A Back or corner. "I'm fine with any of those three positions if I were to commit to Georgia Tech."
Early playing time would be up to TaQuon. "If I come in and work very hard to show that I belong on the field, I would play as a freshman.
On the matter of his decision, the coaches told Marshall they would wait on him to be 100% sure that he wanted to go to Georgia Tech. "They told us that they would love for me to commit but when I do to be 100% sure of my commitment."
Marshall's parents loved what they were told and had a great trip. "I don't think it could have gone any better."
TaQuon will be making a return visit to Tech. "They are having a big recruit visit day on June 5th and I am coming back for that day."
Although Marshall feels his decision will probably come after he starts back to school, he could make an earlier decision if he finds a school that is a perfect fit.
