WR Philpott Adds ACC & Big 12 Offers
Tallahassee (Fla.) North Florida Christian High School class of 2015 wide receiver prospect Christian Philpott has no shortage of scholarship offers. The latest three offers for the 6-foot-4 and 195-pound junior are from Miami (Fla.), Georgia Tech and Iowa State. All three schools have extended their offers within the last two weeks. "It was pretty exciting because it is a big program and it was the first really big school (in-state) to offer me, so it was pretty exciting. They like that I can stretch the field and that I can block," said Philpott of Miami and the offer. The rising senior was also happy to get offers from the Yellow Jackets and the Cyclones. "I like the Georgia Tech offer because it is a great school. They told me their wide receivers get the ball a lot on deep passes and stuff like that," said Philpott of his interest in Georgia Tech. The lanky receiver says he thought his offer from the Cyclones might have arrived sooner. "I was excited, I thought they were going to offer a long time ago because they came by last year," explained Philpott of his Iowa State recruitment. Philpott does plan on camping with several schools this summer but hasn't firmed up his schedule for June and July yet. "I am going to camp somewhere but not sure where yet, probably Auburn and Indiana and possibly Louisville," Philpott said. The list of schools to have also offered Philpott include; East Carolina, Indiana, Louisville, Maryland, Ole Miss, NC State, Penn State, USF, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Wake Forest and Wisconsin among others.
