Profile - Marquez Callaway
Warner Robins High School (GA) 2016 athlete Marquez Callaway is getting a lot of early attention. Wednesday Callaway made a visit to an ACC school and left with another offer.
Marquez described the trip to Georgia Tech as fun. "It was much different than I expected and for the better." Marquez was hosted by Coach Preston Pehrson. "I was very impressed with everything there."
Callaway toured the facilities and got to see a lot of the campus. "I was very impressed with the stadium." The campus was different than expected for Marquez. Despite the size of the campus Marquez liked that it was easy to get around.
The school's academic prestige and the chance to get a quality education also stood out to Callaway. "I have the confidence in myself to know I can play football at any school out there. I want to get a quality education." Seeing what Tech grads were earning was an eye opener to Marquez. "That is what made this trip so special to me."
The Tech coaches like Callaway as a receiver. "If I choose Georgia Tech as my college, I would want to be better than Demaryious Thomas. I want to make a name for myself."
There are no favorites at the present time for Callaway. "I have a lot of time and visits to make before I decide on who my favorites are."
When it comes time to make his decision, Marquez will be looking at schools that can give him a quality education. "Like I mentioned, I feel I can play anywhere in football, so the school that gives me the best education will be very important." A place where he feels comfortable is also important to Callaway.
