A two day visit to Georgia Tech, with his parents, left a big impression on Ponchatoula High School (LA) quarterback Christian Campbell. Saturday Campbell gave Tech his verbal commit.

After returning home, Campbell decided that Tech was the right for him. He liked that Tech played in a good conference, he could get a great education, and he really likes the Tech coaching staff. "It just all came together and made it obvious to me that Georgia Tech was right for me."

The second day of the visit was when Christian started to see that Tech was where he needed to be. The tour of the facilities was enough to convince Christian. "They have great facilities."

Christian called the coaches when they were in a meeting during a break from their summer camp. The coaches were talking about Campbell when he called. "They were hoping I would commit and it was ironic that I called at that time. We got a laugh about that."

Coach Bryan Cook was the lead recruiter for Campbell. "Coach Cook will also be my position coach. He recruited me hard."

Campbell is not worried about having to carry the ball a lot in the Tech spread option offense. He already does that for his high school team. "I am looking forward to doing it."

If other schools continue to call, Christian will listen but he'll let them know that he is committed to Georgia Tech. "I'm happy with my decision and that is it."

Campbell hopes to get back to Tech this summer or in the fall to see a few of their games. "I'll be back. That is what I know for sure."
