Profile - Omahri Jarrett
Jarrett was invited to visit Georgia Tech by Coach Lamar Owens. "I was kind of shocked that he did as most of my recruitment settled around the Sun Belt type schools." Jarrett made the visit with his parents. "I loved it right from the start."
The Jarrett's toured the school, got to see the academic support system, and they got to see the football facilities. "The big selling point to me is their Computer Engineering School being ranked #1 in the country."
Omarhi gave his verbal commit to Coach Paul Johnson during the visit. "Before I made my commitment, he mentioned that I was a better player than what my offer sheet showed and he wanted to offer me." Omarhi knew he found a home when he heard those words from Coach Johnson. "Georgia Tech has everything I want."
Georgia Tech being close to home, having his major, and running the spread option offense were all factors in Jarrett choosing Tech. Jarrett's high school runs a similar offense. "It was such an easy decision to make." Jarrett's decision is final and he won't be looking at other schools.
Omahri's parents are happy for him. They like that he is going to get a quality education and he'll be close to home. "They are as excited as I am."
Jarrett plays the slot in New Manchester's offense and is a major contributor on special teams too. "I get a chance to rush for yards, I catch passes out of the backfield, and I take pride in my blocking." Omarhi also contributes on special teams.
