Profile - Evyn Cooper
Buford High School (GA) athlete Evyn Cooper made a return visit to Georgia Tech on Tuesday. The main focus of the visit was to take a look at the academic side of Georgia Tech. The visit impressed Evyn and his family very much.
Cooper described the trip as super. "This trip really moved Georgia Tech up in my eyes. Georgia Tech is really standing out to me right now."
Evyn was also joined on the trip by his parents, sister, God-sister, and his grandmother. "Every one of us loved the trip and were very impressed with what Georgia Tech can give you educationally as well as teaching you to be a total person."
The family spent four hours on campus focusing on academics. "I want to be a sports broadcaster after college and they showed me the majors they have in place now that can lead to that becoming a reality."
Knowing that CNN, TNT, Turner, and other media outlets are nearby left an impression on Evyn. "I could get a first look or even an internship at one of these places and get ahead of the curve." Cooper also go to tour the NBA Showcase to see the draft board as they prepare for the upcoming draft.
The coaches also spent a short time with Evyn to discuss what position he could play. "The coaches mentioned that I could make an impact at A-Back or cornerback." Cooper loves that idea and feels that he could make an impact on either side of the ball. Georgia Tech is now recruiting Evyn as an athlete much to the liking of Evyn.
Evyn plans to make a return trip to Tech which will be one that will concentrate on football. "This trip will be the one that will show me and the coaches how I fit into the team." Cooper has the confidence in himself to know that his football abilities will take care of themselves. "My recruiting is going the way I like it so far."
Cooper is moving closer to making his college choice. "I have a few more things to sort out maybe a couple of trip although I do not have any more scheduled at this time." Evyn feels he'll be able to make that decision in the first part of his senior season. "I have a good feeling but I want to be very sure."
