Profile - Aapri Washington
Rising sophomore recruit Aapri Washington is already making a name for himself. Aapri currently holds seven offers. Washington recently visited one of the schools taking a close look at him.
Aapri and cousins Robert made a return trip south from Huntersville, North Carolina to visit Georgia Tech. "I enjoyed it as much as I have the other times I have been there. Each time is as good or better than the last."
The cousins and Gastonia, North Carolina back Moe Neal toured the campus and got to see the academic side of things. The tour also included getting to see the football facilities and talking to the coaches.
Washington wants to major in business and was impressed with the number of corporations that are connectrd with Tech. “That is a big selling point”
Aapri also likes what he sees from the football program. “I love the tradition of Georgia Tech.” The indoor football facility also caught his eye. "Most of the ones I've seen are only 40 yards but Tech has a big field and it’s air conditioned.”
Georgia Tech Coach Paul Johnson spent time with Aapri on his visit. "He is bringing back the Tech running style and he’s talking pride, hard work, and winning.”
Defensive back Coach Joe Speed also met with Aapri. Coach Speed likes Washington at the corner position. He loves to coach players that want to play hard and learn to do things right.”
Tech will wait until Aapri camps with them next summer before they make a decision on offering him. “I plan on doing that. “ Washington also plans to stay in touch with the Tech coaches.
At this time, Aapri feels that the schools that offered him are the ones recruiting him the hardest. “Once Georgia Tech offers, I will be adding them to that list.”
