Profile - Evyn Cooper
Buford athlete Evyn Cooper was scheduled to visit Georgia Tech a few weeks ago but had to reschedule the visit. Saturday, Evyn and his family made the visit to Tech that coincided with their Fan Day.
Cooper felt that the Saturday visit better suited him and his family. Evyn and his family got to see a more realistic look at Tech with the students moving in and they had a chance to watch practice. “I know I liked it. I got a real good idea of how I will fit into the scheme they employ on defense."
Tech is looking at Cooper as a corner rather than an A Back. “I really don't mind which position I play but I feel corner is better suited for me. Evyn would rather be the one doing the hitting. “I know I can learn a lot under Coach (Ted) Roof and Coach (Joe) Speed."
Evyn had a chance to speak with all of the coaches on the visit. “All of them wanted to make me feel like I am part of the team.”
A tour of the campus and a chance to talk with some of the players was also a part of the visit. "I got a chance to see the dorms that I would be living in if I choose Georgia Tech."
The Cooper family described the visit as a great experience. "We really loved everything we saw. It was a great time by all."
A decision before the start of his senior season was originally planned by Evyn. Buford opens with three tough opponents and Evyn wants to concentrate on the team rather than his decision. “Right now I plan on making a decision in week five of the season. Evyn also will be playing both ways, as a running back and a corner back for Buford High School."
The visit to Tech was the last one that he has planned. “I'm sure though that I will make some game day visits. I’m just not sure when or where just yet."
Evyn has a final list of school but he wants to keep that list to himself for now.
