Americus Sumter running back Wesley Fields heads into his senior year hoping that visits and camps have paid off this summer. The Middle Tennessee State commit is looking to add more offers to his recruiting picture and one school is starting to show a lot of interest.

Americus Sumter High School (GA) running back Wesley Fields gave his verbal commit to Middle Tennessee State in late July. Since then, more schools have begun to show interest in Wesley.

Middle Tennessee has continued to stay in touch with Fields but three other schools have begun showing strong interest in Wesley. Georgia Tech, Kent State, and Georgia State are the three schools. “I hear a lot from them and feel at any time I could receive an offer from them."

Wesley is open to listening to these schools even though he is committed to Middle Tennessee. Georgia Tech is the one school that Fields hopes will offer. "I'm not saying I'd change on the spot but when a major school like that offers, you have to look.” Wesley especially likes the Tech offense.

Fields has stayed in touch with Tech Coach Preston Pehrson. "He likes my size and speed at A-Back.” Fields is 5'10"-196 and he has run a 4.5 forty. In spite of his preference for the A Back position, Wesley said he would be willing to play anywhere if it gets him on the field.

Wesley attended camp at Tech and returned for another visit. An offer from Tech would make them even more appealing to Fields. “Both visits were great.” The coaches let Fields know that they are looking for more backs that can push for early playing time. “As a recruit you like hearing that."

Wesley intends to stick with his original plan to wait until his senior season is over before making a final decision. “I have a plan and I want to stick to it."
