Gray Not Waivering

Washington County High School (GA) all-state player A.J. Gray was one of the first commits in the Georgia Tech 2015 recruiting class. Gray has not waivered on that commit as he is now preparing for his senior season.

Gray and his teammates feel that they can make another run at the state title. "I am very happy about our upcoming season. We have a very strong team coming back.” A.J. also likes that now that his senior season is here he is that much closer to being at Tech. “If we can go out a state champ and get that ring, that would be icing on the cake."

A few schools other than Tech have stayed in touch with Gray. One of those schools is North Carolina. “I've told them it won't happen. I’m committed to Georgia Tech and I’m more than happy with that commitment.” Gray knows that he’ll be in Atlanta next summer when the players report.

A.J. has been staying in touch with the Georgia Tech coaches. "They are excited to have me ready to play next fall and I am excited to be going there.” Gray has looked at the depth chart and sees that Tech is losing one of their starting safeties. He hopes to come in and show what he can do and earn some early playing time. “Just thinking about it has me ready to get there right now."

There has not been any discussion between A.J. and the Tech coaches about playing offense. "All the coaches are on the same page as I am. Safety is the best place for me in college.”

Gray is excited about the other recruits that will be joining him as freshmen next year. "I think this class is very strong. We will surprise a lot of people with how well we will do.” A.J. thinks the strength of the 2015 Tech recruiting class will be recruits playing at positions that will make Tech a better team.
