Could Taylor Thomas Be An Option

Georgia tech is exploring many options to fill their need for an A-Back for the 2015 recruiting class. Taylor Thomas of Edward H. White high school in Jacksonville, Florida is a running back the Yellow Jackets like very much and will be at his game this Friday to see him in action.

Jacksonville Edward White running back Taylor Thomas has been a commit to Utah since mid August. Other schools are now starting to show interest in Taylor. One of those schools will be visiting him Friday.

Georgia Tech Coach Lamar Owens will be in Jacksonville Friday to watch Thomas play. "Coach Owens and I have been talking the past few weeks."

Coach Owens has let Thomas know that he’ll be visiting on the 26th. “I know that they are looking to add one or two more A-Backs for their offense. I think he wants to maybe extend an offer.” Coach Owens and Taylor may also be setting up a visit to Tech.

Thomas would make the visit if invited. "My head coach graduated from Georgia Tech and he can give me a ride up there.” If Thomas were to visit, it would be for either the Miami or Clemson games. “It would be good to go see them play."

The Georgia Tech spread option offense interests Taylor. Ed White runs an offense similar to Tech’s. "The fact that I would be familiar with it would be a good thing."

Taylor remains committed to Utah in spite of the recent interest. He has a friend that plays there and likes the school. Taylor visited Utah and liked what he saw. Since then, another friend, Chris Barr of Trinity High School, has committed to Utah. “It would be nice to have some friends that far away from home."

If Tech offered, it would get Taylor’s interest. "I would have to look and see. They are showing interest but I don't want to get ahead of anything. I don't have an offer from Tech right now.”

Some of the other schools showing interest in Taylor include Maryland, Mississippi State, Georgia Southern, Indiana, Troy, and Temple. Top Stories
