Jonathan Smith Up to Five Offers

The recruitment of Scoutland County,North Carolina linebacker Jonathon Smith is starting to take off. The 2016 recruit has picked up some recent offers and some other schools are starting to show interest in him. Smith and his teammates are preparing for the first round of the state playoffs. They enter the playoffs as a three seed.

Jonathan has been surprised by the attention he’s gotten during his junior season. “I have to say I am blessed.” Smith currently has five offers and Ohio State has started recruiting him. "Georgia Tech, Georgia Southern, Duke, West Virginia, and Boston College have offered.”

Naming a leader is not in the current plans for Jonathan. "I think it’s too early to say one school is ahead of the other."

Smith has recently been in contact with Georgia Tech Coach Bryan Cook. Tech has Smith as one of their top targets in the 2016 class. Tech is looking at Smith at the middle linebacker position. “I feel that is my best position and I’ll play that in college."

The current season has given Smith a chance to visit many of the schools recruiting him. Johathan has been to Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Georgia State, and Duke. “I also know I will be attending the Georgia Tech game this coming weekend when they play Clemson.”

When making his decision, Jonathan will be looking at his relationship with the coaches, the depth chart, and the chance to play early. “The one thing that will not play into my decision is distance. I don't' mind going out of state to go to a school." Top Stories
