Profile - Kyle Henderson
Tampa Plant defensive tackle Kyle Henderson gave his verbal commit to Georgia Tech last summer. Since then, Kyle has actively helped recruit players for the 2015 class. Henderson has now made a decision regarding his enrollment.
Henderson has been busy taking extra math courses last summer and an online English 4 class during the school year. Kyle has also raised his SAT scores which will now enable him to enroll early at Tech.
“I just talked with Coach (Mike) Pelton and told him that I have done the work to enroll early at Georgia Tech and will be there for spring practice.” Coach Pelton will be traveling to Tampa Friday to pick up the necessary paperwork to make Henderson’s early enrollment official.
Kyle originally had decided to finish out his high school year like a normal student. Henderson took the summer courses in case he decided to change his mind. A current Tech freshmen led Kyle to change his mind. Henderson watched the success KeShun Freeman was having after enrolling early. “I knew then that is what I wanted to do."
The decision to enroll early is a bittersweet one for his parents. Kyle’s mom is happy that he can do something to better himself but she is sad that her only child will be leaving home. "I’m this big football player that most consider a man but to her I am still her baby (laughing)."
Henderson let his friend and fellow Tech commit Brentavious Glanton know that he’ll be enrolling early. “If he could have taken the English class, he could have also come in early.” Kyle let Brentavious know that he’ll send him the workouts to keep him up to speed.
In the meantime, both recruits will be working on Grayson, Georgia linebacker Daniel Fennell to get him to join them in the 2015 recruiting class. “All three of us are close friends.”
