Recruiting Update on Michael Cooper

Michael Cooper has it all, the grades, the size, the speed, and the power. Now he also has a leader in Georgia Tech for his signature on signing day. One of the top runningbacks and student athletes in the Peach State is close to deciding where he will play on Saturday's next year.

Michael Cooper just may be the best big back in the Peach State.  Cooper, 6-1 and 215 pounds, stars for Sylvania (GA) Screven County High School in South Georgia.  This past week in a jamboree against Thompson, Cooper led his team to a 12-7 victory.  "I returned a kickoff for a 85 yard touchdown," said Cooper.  "I only touched the ball 7-8 times and gained about 40 yards.  I feel like I am at the point where I know everything about our offense and I can adjust to all of the reads.  I am ready to play hard and have a big senior year."  Cooper has been offered scholarships by Georgia Tech, Maryland, Clemson, Northwestern, LSU, Duke and Louisville.  "Clemson just offered.  Right now, I would say that Georgia Tech is my frontrunner.  I also like Northwestern and LSU.  They are my three favorites.  I am also considering Florida State, Florida, Georgia, Nebraska and Michigan."  Last season as a junior, Cooper rushed the ball 204 times for 1,451 yards and 14 touchdowns.  He will go see the Georgia Southern/ Savannah State game this weekend.
