Profile - Nathan Cottrell
Georgia Tech commit Nathan Cottrell recently finished his senior season. A season that resulted in a state championship. This past weekend Nathan took his official visit to his future home at Georgia Tech.
The trip gave Nathan’s parents a chance to see what he liked about Tech. “Once they got to meet the coaches and saw everything for themselves, they were happy that I chose Georgia Tech.” Nathan was happy that the coaches and their families made his parents feel at home. “My parents were impressed with all the opportunities I have in front of me."
Nathan would love to play as a freshman but that subject wasn’t discussed when he met with the coaches. "I know that is something you have to earn and it will fall upon me to show the coaches what I have to give as a freshman.”
Nathan will be rooming with Brant Mitchell when he arrives on campus. He also plans to wear number 27. “I was a huge Eddie George fan growing up and thus the reason for wearing that number before high school."
The highlight of the trip for Cottrell was going out to eat. “We had a chance to sit down and talk with each other's families and we had a great meal.”
Cottrell’s main goal when he gets to Tech is to continue the success the current players had this season. “At the banquet, you could tell how close the guys are and we (recruits coming in this year) are looking to step in and do what it takes to continue the unity and success.”
Even though he has made his decision to play for Tech, Nathan confesses that he’ll miss no longer being recruited. Getting to meet so many good people was his favorite part of recruiting. “God has truly bleesed me with a great opportunity that I will make the best of the next four years."
