Profile - Dorian Walker
Following a strong senior season, Mt. Paran High School (GA) athlete Dorian Walker started to get attention from schools around the South. One of those schools was Georgia Tech. Walker visited the local school over the weekend.
Dorian described his visit to Tech as tremendous. “The coaches and players went way beyond what I was expecting in order for me and my family to feel at home.” The Tech players showed Walker what made them a great team this season. “Everyone from Coach (Paul) Johnson to the players were very nice and outgoing and really made us feel welcome."
The visit led to Dorian giving his commit to Tech Sunday morning. “I was really excited to get an offer and finally commit to Coach Johnson and Georgia Tech."
Besides touring the campus and the football facilities, Dorian also got to see the College Hall of Fame and business headquarters in the area. “The facilities were way beyond my expectations.”
Walker was hosted on the trip by the Austin twins. “Lance and Lawrence were the perfect hosts for me.”
When he met with the coaches, Walker was told that he will start out at A Back. Coach Ted Roof is lobbying for Dorian to play corner. The coaches told Walker that they will find the best place for both he and the team. Dorian has no preference for where he’d like to play.
Dorian’s commitment means he’ll be continuing the family legacy at Tech. Both his dad and step-mom graduated from Georgia Tech. “They are as excited as I am about continuing the family lines at Tech. Tech has made both of them successful and I know Tech will do the same for me.”
