Profile - Christian Campbell
Pachatoula, LA 2015 quarterback Christian Campbell committed to Georgia Tech this past summer. Several schools continued to recruit Campbell. Campbell remained firm in his commitment and this past weekend he took his official visit to Tech.
Campbell enjoyed the visit and was happy he was able to spend time with his fellow Louisiana commit Brandon Singleton.”I loved the visit.”
Christian was hosted on the trip by Tech receiver Ricky Jeune. Jeune was able to show Christian a lot of things about Tech that he didn’t know about from his previous visit. “It was a great experience to learn all that Tech has to offer a student-athlete.”
Getting to know more about Atlanta was also a part of the visit for Christian. Campbell saw similarities between New Orleans and Atlanta minus the Bourbon Street area. “All of the players made us feel at home.”
The official visit sealed the deal for Campbell. He had a chance to see what he’d be doing for the next four years and he was impressed with the value of a Tech education.
Christian’s parents had a chance to meet with the coaches. “The staff made an impression on them.” Campbell’s parents are happy that the Tech staff will be looking out for Christian’s interests while he’s at Tech.
Coach Paul Johnson and Coach Bryan Cook also met with Christian on the visit. They both want Christian to push hard for the backup job at quarterback. Christian also knows that a redshirt year could also be valuable. “The coaches were honest and up front with me. You can't ask for more than that.”
Now that his recruitment is over, Christian is ready to move forward. "It was fun and I’m glad I had it but I’m glad it’s about done." There are no current plans for a signing day ceremony for Christian but he feels that they will have one for him.
