Profile - Kwon Williams
Following his junior season, West Hall HS (GA) athlete Kwon Williams has started to gain interest from division one programs. Williams picked up his fifth offer last week. West Hall has been a destination for coaches coming to visit Williams.
The most recent visitor to West Hall was Coach Bryan Cook from Georgia Tech. "Coach Cook informed my head coach that they are very interested in me.” Tech likes Kwon’s versatility. He can play both running back and defensive back. Tech is recruiting Williams as an athlete.
Kwon was invited to Tech’s spring practice and their spring game. He also has plans to attend their Junior Day. “I’m going to be there for sure. Georgia Tech is a school I like a lot and if they were to offer, they would be at the top of my list.”
Wake Forest has also invited Kwon to their Junior Day on February 15th. Wisconsin and Northwestern are two other schools that have recently visited Williams as well as the other schools that have offered.
All the schools recruiting Williams like him as an athlete with the exception of Wake Forest. “Wake Forest said they want me as a defensive back.” Where he plays is not an issue for Kwon. He’ll be looking for whichever position gets him on the field the earliest.
When it comes time to choose a school, Kwon would prefer to stay in-state. Williams will also be looking at the school environment and his relationship with the coaches and players at the schools recruiting him.
Thus far, Kwon has been enjoying the interest he is receiving. He’s looking forward to the chance to meet new recruits, new coaches, and getting to see some places and schools he’s never seen before. “This will only happen once and I feel this will be something I will always remember."
