Profile - Antwuan Jackson
Despite being only a short drive from Tech’s campus, this was the first visit for Jackson. Antwuan was surprised by what he saw when he arrived at Tech. “It was much better than I expected and I liked what I saw." Antwuan and his teammates saw just about all the facilities that Tech had to offer. “Tech has some really nice facilities.”
Getting a chance to talk with Coach Joe Speed was one of the highlights of the trip for Jackson. Jackson has known Coach Speed for some time now. “He’s a great guy and he tells it like it is."
Tech has asked Jackson for his transcripts and he expects an offer once they receive them. “Coach Speed says an offer should be coming my way once they are processed by the academic side of the school. I know an offer from Georgia Tech is one that I want to get."
Jackson has six or seven schools that he likes right now. Auburn, Georgia, Clemson, Alabama, Oregon, and Southern Cal are the ones mentioned by Antwuan. “When I get an offer from Georgia Tech, they will move into that category."
There are a few schools that Antwuan plans to visit this spring. “I know I’ll be going back to Georgia Tech for some spring practices and possibly the spring game.” Junior Day visits to Alabama, Auburn, and Georgia are also scheduled.
At one time, Jackson planned on making an early commitment. He now plans to make that decision between the start of his senior season and signing day. “I want to be sure that the decision I make is the right one.”
When he makes that decision, Jackson knows that its best not to make a decision based on a coach but he hopes that the coach he has a relationship with will still be at the school when he commits. Distance and the campus location will not be a factor.
