Profile - Jaylen Miller
Jacksonville, Florida offensive lineman Jaylen Miller is looking to add his name to the long list of FBS players that started their careers in Jacksonville. Miller recently received his 11th offer as he moves closer to that goal.
Thus far, Miller has enjoyed everything about recruiting. He’s enjoyed talking to coaches and meeting players and other recruits. “This past week I picked up my 11th offer from Georgia Tech."
Georgia Tech Coach Lamar Owens extended the offer to Jaylen. "Georgia Tech is a great academic school and they play great football.” Miller is familiar with the Jacksonville players on the Tech roster. He views that as a good thing in his recruitment.
Tech has been recruiting Jaylen for a long time now. He feels that they’ll be in his recruitment for the long run. “I think highly of Georgia Tech with their achievements on the field and their reputation inthe business world."
The schools location and the coaching staff are two other things that Miller likes about Tech. "The thing that I like the most about Tech is their academic reputation of graduating players and finding them good jobs.”
Coach Owens has invited Miller to visit Tech as often as he wants. "I will be going back for some spring practices and possibly the spring game. I know they hold it on a Friday night and I like the sound of that.” Jalen may also attend Tech's summer camp.
In addition to the offer from Tech, Jaylen has been offered by Charlotte, Duke, Marshall, Missouri, Presbyterian, Temple, and Wake Forest. Miller feels that North Carolina and Ole Miss may be close to offering him too.
Jaylen has two schools that have impressed him thus far. "I have to say Duke along with Georgia Tech have been the schools that are recruiting me hard and that have impressed me thus far.” Miller hopes to visit a lot of other schools too before narrowing his list.
Next weekend, Miller will be visiting Georgia for their Junior Day. He’ll also be at Duke for their Junior Day on the 28th. “I may or may not add more. It will depend on how my schedule works out."
There is not a consensus among the schools recruiting Jaylen as to which position he should play. “I can play all three positions. The schools will work with me to find my best position.”
Miller is looking for a school that will challenge him on the field and in the classroom. Distance could play a role in his decision but if he really likes a school, that won’t be a factor.
Jaylen plans to make his decision when he is 100% sure about the school he chooses. “I’m not going to be one of those guys that commits and then changes his mind."
