Tucker High School (GA) athlete Garrett Rigby excels on both sides of the ball as a quarterback and safety. This past weekend, Rigby and several of his Tucker teammates made the short trip from Tucker to visit Georgia Tech.
Rigby was also accompanied on the trip by his dad. Coach Joe Speed hosted the group on their visit. Garrett got to see both the academic and football side of things on his visit. “The visit really impressed me and made me look at Georgia Tech is whole different light.”
Getting to see the football facilities was also a part of the visit. "I really liked the weight room and the indoor facility. Tech does things right."
Coach Speed feels that Rigby would look good running the Tech offense. Tucker runs a similar offense to Tech. "I also know that he likes me at safety.” Garrett likes playing both side of the ball. He doesn’t have a preference where he plays.
Tech requested Garrett’s transcripts on the visit. "I understand that Tech looks at your transcripts before they offer so I take this as a good sign that an offer should be coming my way."
An offer would put Tech in a good position with Rigby. "I want to see everything I can before making that crucial final decision.” Garrett feels an offer from Tech would be hard to turn down.
Rigby currently has offers from Marshall and Presbyterian. “I’m being told that more are coming my way after I make some visits."
A return visit to Tech is one of several visits that Garrett is planning. He’ll return for spring practice as well as the spring game. Rigby also plans to take Junior Day visits to Georgia and Alabama.
Don’t look for Garrett to make an early decision. Rigby will be looking to see what offers he can get and he wants to take some visits before he makes a decision.
