Profile - Andrew Tarver
McEachern High School (GA) defensive tackle Andrew Tarver is in the early stages of his recruitment. Last week, Tarver visited one of the in-state schools. Tarver was hosted on the visit by one of the school’s former All-Americans.
Andrew made the short trip from Powder Springs to visit Georgia Tech. Andrew was hosted by former Tech All-American Joe Hamilton. “He showed me that you can have a great athletic experience at Georgia Tech while getting a first class education."
Coach Hamilton showed Tarver the facilities. Tarver was impressed by the indoor facility and the weight room. The two toured the campus and Andrew also got a look at the academic side of things.
Tarver has sent Tech his transcripts and is hoping that an offer follows. He was invited back to Tech for their Junior Day as well as spring practices. Andrew also hopes to be on campus for their spring game. “I know I will be going to the Junior Day on the 28th."
At 6’2”-290, Tarver plays defensive tackle for McEachern. Andrew feels that Tech could use him at ether of the tackle positions. “I can also slide to the outside and play defensive end if needed.”
Following the Tech visit, Tarver will be visiting Wake Forest during his spring break and he has been invited to the Junior Day at Mercer.
Does Tarver have an early favorite? "Georgia Tech is my number one school and an offer from them will just cement that.”
Andrew hopes to make his college decision before the start of his senior year. Academics will be the most important factor in his decision. Andrew is also looking for a team that has good chemistry. Tarver noticed that about Tech, at the Clemson game, when they rallied around the injured Broderick Snoddy
