Profile - Jakob Brashear
The last time we talked to Dacula, GA linebacker Jacob Brashear, he had Georgia Tech as his favorite team. After looking at some other schools, Brashear confirmed what he knew all along and gave his verbal commit to Coach Paul Johnson and Coach Ted Roof.
After looking at those other schools, Jakob told his parents that he knew that Georgia Tech was the school for him. “No other school could come close to pulling me away from Tech. Jakob then called Coach Roof and Coach Johnson to tell them of his decision that he wanted to commit.
The coaches asked Jakob if he had talked to his parents and if everyone was on baord with his decision. “I told them that they were 100% behind me and that they told me to go ahead make the call to the coaches and commit.” Upon hearing that news, both coaches welcomed Brashear to Georgia Tech's 2016 recruiting class.
Jakob’s parents wanted to make sure that he was happy with his decision and he said that he was. “Now they have to deal with their Georgia friends now that I’m going to Tech (laughing).” Jakob has a lot of Georgia fans in his family. However, they are all behind Jakob in his decision to commit to Tech.
Jakob is happy to have the decision behind him. "Now I can concentrate on my senior season and also help out Georgia Tech with their recruiting.” Jakob plans to help Coach Roof with the recruits in his area. Plus Jakob runs track for Dacula and will have more time to focus on that and another important thing to him. He likes giving back to the younger students at his school. "I am in the process of helping with the 1st through 8th graders in a track meet."
With Tech beginning spring practice Monday, Jakob plans to attend some practices and also to attend the spring game.
