Jarett Cole Takes In A Georgia Tech Practice

After making a name for himself in the Charlotte, North Carolina area, Jarett Cole and his family moved to the Atlanta, Georgia metropolitan area. He now attends Norcross High School and is ready to show what he can at one of the state's best high school in football.

Norcross safety Jarett Cole was invited by Georgia Tech Coach Ted Roof to visit one of Tech’s recent spring practices. Wednesday Jarett made the short 30 minute trip to the Tech campus to watch Coach Roof’s defense practice.

In addition to watching practice, Cole toured the campus. “I had a very good time there.” Following the practice, Jarett spent some time with Coach Roof. Coach Roof let Jarett know that he plans to watch him at his spring practices in May. “We just moved here from the Charlotte area so he hasn't seen me play in person.”

Cole and Coach Roof also talked about where he might play in Tech’s defense. “He sees me as a nickel or possibly as a strong or free safety.” Cole likes the idea of playing the nickel knowing that Tech plays a lot of nickel defense. Jarett is currently 5’11”-188.

A return visit to Tech for their spring game has been planned by Jarett. He also hopes to get back to watch Tech practice again. “They are a school I really like. They have the unique combination of great academics and great football.”

Cole currently has offers from Boston College, Buffalo, Georgia State, Iowa, Mercer, Toledo, and Wake Forest. “An offer from Tech would mean so much to me.”

Now that he’s about to start spring break, Jarett will start taking additional visits. He’ll be at Vanderbilt on the 6th, Missouri on the 7th, and Iowa on the 8th. Cole will also be looking to take additional visits before his spring practices begins in May.
