Profile - Landon Dickerson
Friday Landon made the trip south to Atlanta to visit Georgia Tech. Landon made the trip to get to know the coaches and the school. “I came away impressed with the campus and the facilities.”
Coach Bryan Cook and Coach Mike Sewak both met with Landon. The coaches extended Dickerson an offer and let him know that his position on the offensive line would be determined once he was in school.
The fact that Tech is an engineering school is appealing to Landon. “I want to major in engineering, maybe bio-medical engineering.” Landon knows that if that major requires time away from practice he would look for another engineering major.
Before he left Tech, Dickerson was invited back for another visit. He’s not sure if that is possible but he’d like to get back for the spring game. With the addition of the offer from Tech, the offers are starting to pile up for Landon. Prior to the Tech offer, Florida State, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia Tech were the schools showing Landon the most interest. Dickerson is also starting to get interest from Alabama.
Landon’s interest in Tech comes from their combination of highly rated academics and football. “It's hard to find a school that has both of them ranked as high as they are at Georgia Tech.”
Naming a leader is not something that Landon is ready to do at this time. He hopes to visit as many schools as possible before naming a leader. Dickerson knows that a low percentage of college players make it to the pros so he’ll be looking for a school that gives him the best combination of academics and football.
