GT's Spring Game Was A Great Visit For Elder

LaGrange High School (GA) offensive lineman Luke Elder and his dad were return visitors to Georgia Tech for their spring game last Friday evening. Elder has shuffled his top three as he moves closer to making his college choice.

The visit was an enjoyable one for Elder and his dad in spite of the rain that fell throughout the game. “It was a very eye opening visit and one that made me rethink my top three.”

Elder was impressed with the Tech coaching staff and how they approached the spring game. Luke also got to spend some time with his “Rising Seniors” teammates that were at the game. “We all loved our time there.”

Tech Coach Mike Sewak met with Elder after the game. “He told me how much he would love to have me there at Georgia Tech.” Coach Sewak plans to be in LaGrange to watch Luke practice.

Getting to talk with Tech freshman All-American KeShun Freeman and his family was one of the highlights of the visit for Elder. “KeShun told me how much he loved it there and that picking Tech was the best decision he made.” Elder and Freeman are from the same area of Georgia.

Luke was supposed to go to Auburn that same weekend but cancelled his visit there. "I was just ready to sit back and enjoy my weekend. I watched some of the Auburn spring game on TV though." He was supposed to go to both Auburn and Alabama for visits but didn't make those trips.

As he’s moved along with his recruitment, Luke has made some changes with his top three. "I don't want to say who they are but I like Georgia Tech very much.” The latest visit left an impression on Elder. “I left Georgia Tech with a better view and feeling about the school."

Luke has not changed his timetable for making a decision. He’ll focus on five or six schools as he nears his decision. “I will make a decision either before the summer starts or right after.” Luke doesn’t want to drag the decision making process into his fall practice. Top Stories
