How strong is Campbell’s’ verbal to LSU? "I am committed to the Tigers but I am looking at a few schools just to make sure that the decision was the right one for me in all phases of my recruitment."

Donavaughn is willing to name two of those schools. "I'll go on record and say that Georgia Tech and Alabama are two schools that I am looking at and I’m looking at them pretty hard."

Alabama’s place in the SEC has caught Campbell’s attention. “They always seem to be playing for the SEC and National Championships.” Donavaughn also likes Alabama’s coaching staff.

Georgia Tech is a unique situation for Campbell. "I really like the school. They are a run heavy school and I love blocking in that offense.” At 6’5”- 340, Donavaughn feels he could be a great guard in their offense.

Campbell watched Tech guard Shaq Mason play the position last season. Seeing Mason get to the second and third level inspired Campbell. “He would be a great player to model my style of blocking after.”

Another draw for Donavaughn will be the chance to play with his brother Christian. “He'll probably red shirt his freshman season and then be the guy that the coaches look for to step into the quarterback role after Justin Thomas graduates.” Donavaughn would love the chance to play with his brother.

Christian Campbell will be moving in at Tech June 16th and Donavaughn plans to make the trip with him. “I will also make most if not all the home games this season.”

When all is said and done, Donavaughn knows that it’s possible he ends up at LSU. “I just want to put myself in the best situation for college." This important decision probably won’t be made until signing day. Top Stories
