DeeJay, his step-mom, and two of his siblings made the trip to Atlanta to visit Georgia Tech. DeeJay’s dad met them on campus. The family met with Coach Paul Johnson and Coach Lamar Owens. One of the highlights for Dallas was also getting to meet college hall of fame quarterback Joe Hamilton.

Hamilton had watched DeeJay’s film and complemented him on his play. He let Dee Jay know that he saw a lot of himself in his play. “It was one of the best compliments I’ve ever received.”

Coach Owens was happy to see DeeJay on campus knowing that half the battle in the recruiting wars is getting the player on campus. “You can see that the players are close and they have great chemistry”, said Dallas.

Coach Johnson let DeeJay know that he was in the perfect situation with current quarterback Justin Thomas playing his last season in 2016. “He says I’m a quarterback that has the same qualities as Thomas.” Coach Johnson extended an offer to Dallas and let him know when written offers are mailed an offer from GT would be the first one he gets.

Playing quarterback in college has been a dream of DeeJay’s. “The nation saw what Thomas did against the SEC.” Dallas feels he has the same traits as Thomas and feels there are some things he could do better. “I'd love to have the chance to showcase my talents at Tech.”

The Glynn Academy recruit plans to graduate early. “I’m doing well academically and I want to get to college early and go through spring practice.”

The 6’-191 Dallas’ next trip will be to the state of Michigan for camps at Central Michigan, Michigan, and Michigan State. “After that, we've promised Auburn and Alabama that we’ll be coming over to their camps.”
