Dolphus still looking to August decision

Westside-Macon High School (GA) wide receiver Steve Dolphus received an offer from Georgia Tech during the May evaluation period. Monday Dolphus made his way up from Macon to Atlanta for his first visit to the Georgia Tech campus. The visit more than met Steve’s expectations. “I loved everything about the school.”

Getting to see the indoor facility, weight room, and the Rec Center were among the highlights of the trip for Dolphus. “The players meeting room was super nice.”

Steve also got a look at the academic side of things. Dolphus is looking at the sciences for a major and he had a chance to tour some of the facilities. The business school was another destination for Steve on his visit. “I understand it is ranked with some of the best schools in the world.”

Coach Ray Rychleski and Coach “Buzz” Preston met with Dolphus before his meeting with Coach Paul Johnson. “All of them were really honest and open with me.”

The coaches let Steve know what they expect from their receivers. “You can put up big numbers if you are willing to block.” Dolphus was impressed with the receivers Tech has put in the NFL. “I definitely can see myself playing for Georgia Tech.”

Dolphus is not ready to cut down his list of offers. “I still have time left until I make my decision in August.”

A return visit to Tech before he makes his decision is in the works for Dolphus. His mom will be making the return visit with her son. “My mom wants to come up and see the campus and meet everyone for herself.” Steve’s mom likes everything she’s heard about the coaching staff. “They stay on you about going to class.” Going to class is priority number one for Steve and his mom.
