New and old schools alike are trying to get a visit from Buchanan this summer. “A lot of schools are talking to me and some new schools are trying to get in the picture.” Baylen hopes to take some visits this summer and then sit down with his parents to narrow down his list of schools. “I hope to make a decision right before the season starts or early in the season.”

Baylen has visited Georgia Tech and Georgia and will be visiting them again. “I hope to also visit Wisconsin and Nebraska.” Buchanan is also considering a visit to Southern Cal for their camp.

Iowa and Minnesota are two of the new schools that are starting to get Baylen’s attention.

When it comes to schools recruiting him the hardest, Georgia Tech is one of the schools on Baylen’s list. “Coach (Ted) Roof at Georgia Tech is really recruiting me hard. He’s a great guy and he really wants me at Tech.” Nebraska, Georgia, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Minnesota have also turned up the heat.

On his visit to Tech, Baylen met with Coach Paul Johnson and learned about his plan for his players for their life after football. “Coach Johnson helps the players gets internships and they hold a job fair. I had already liked Tech but that made me take a harder look at Georgia Tech.”

Baylen feels that Tech will be one school that will be in the picture until the end of his recruitment. “They have a great academic reputation and Coach Johnson is building something in Atlanta.”
