The latest offer for Kearns comes from Georgia Tech. “I talked to the coaches at Tech and Coach Andy McCollum extended the offer to me.” Patrick is excited about the offer because he likes the direction in which their football program is headed.

Coach Paul Johnson, Coach Mike Sewak, and Coach Ray Rychleski watched film of Patrick. After watching the film they decided to offer Kearns.

The one aspect of his film that the Tech coaches liked was his run blocking. “Run blocking is very important in their offense and I feel I’m very good at run blocking.” The coaches also like that Patrick is from Georgia. Patrick never expected to receive all the offers he has thus far. “I’m overwhelmed by the attention that each school has shown me.”

Kearns had made earlier visits to Tech including one for their Junior Day. He plans to make a return visit in the next week or two. “I really like what I saw and how I felt when I was there.”

In addition to the Tech visit, Patrick plans to visit Florida, Virginia Tech, Duke, Clemson, and North Carolina. Kearns hasn’t narrowed down his offer list but Tech is one of the schools that he likes a lot. “I have a great feeling about Georgia Tech and their future.”

A college decision for Patrick will probably come by the end of the summer. “I know this is a once in a lifetime thing but finishing my senior season without having to visit schools is important to me.”

Patrick’s parents will be involved in the decision and they are excited about the Tech offer. “They love the academics at Georgia Tech.” Being close to home is also important to his parents. Top Stories
