Marfo planning visits after summer AAU season

Worchester Academy, MA has been a destination for schools looking for division one talent. Former Georgia Tech guard Jarrett Jack was one of those recruits. This year is no different as schools are taking a close look at power forward Kevin Marfo.

Most of the schools recruiting Kevin are looking at him as a power forward. Marfo plays the power forward position for both Worcester Academy and BABC. “I feel that is where my future is in college.” At 6-8”-235, coaches feel that Kevin has the prototypical body and frame for the power forward position.

Two months into his AAU season with BABC, the 2016 recruit added another offer to his list this week. The latest offer comes from Georgia Tech. “It was great to get an offer from a great academic school that has a rich basketball history.”

Following his conversations with the Tech assistant coaches, Kevin was offered a scholarship by Coach Brian Gregory. “He told me he has a particular mindset for his big men and that my style of play fits in with their plans.” That news has Kevin interested in Tech.

The offer from Tech brings Kevin’s offer total to 20. He is also hearing from other schools that may be close to offering.

Kevin doesn’t have any one school or group of schools that he feels is recruiting him harder than the others. “Schools like DePaul, Boston College, and UMass are recruiting me hard but every school that has offered has shown that they want me.”

The only schools that Kevin plans to visit at this time are local schools. Once he is finished with the AAU season, Kevin plans to start taking visits. “I really want to see schools that are showing a lot of interest in me.” Top Stories
