Profile - Baylen Buchanan
Jaylen has spent the summer visiting some schools and is getting ready to make some additional visits. Buchanan recently visited Louisville. “It was nice getting back up there to see the coaches and players.” A return visit to Georgia Tech and a visit to Georgia this weekend are also planned.
The Big 10 will be a destination for Baylen later this month. “I’m going to Ohio State on the 24th. I may also swing by Illinois and Wisconsin if we can squeeze them in on the trip.” Baylen will also visit Arizona on the 27th. Georgia Tech and Georgia are two of the schools that Buchanan favors and he hasn't eliminated them or any other school as of today that has offered. “They are very much in the picture.” Baylen has noticed that Tech will need defensive backs. They lose four starters after the 2015 season. “You have to take notice of that.”
Buchanan often talks to Tech Coach Ted Roof. “He believes in me and that makes me feel good.” Coach Roof is the one coach that stands out to Baylen. “The entire Tech staff is great.” Baylen has taken notice how they have moved the program into the top ten.
Buchanan feels confident that he’ll pick up additional offers from Ohio State and Arizona on his visits to those schools. “Some schools want you to visit before they offer.” Arizona is one of the schools that is showing strong interest in Baylen.
We probably won’t see Baylen cutting his list of schools until after he completes his visits. He wants to take it slow to make sure he selects the right schools. “I’m listed as a soft verbal to Louisville right now, but I’m really wide open."
Since he is still taking visits, Baylen will probably not make his decision until later in his senior season. “I don’t want to set an exact date in order to make a solid decision.” Baylen still has a lot of schools in the picture. Buchanan made his original decision without visiting any other schools. “I want to take my time to make sure I make the right decision this time.”
